Use this online stopwatch to count to one minute. Your child can make a chart of words read per minute to see how his or her reading rate is improving.
Below are the Grade Level Expectations for Word Correct Per Minute:
- 1st Grade: Winter Term 10-50 wcpm
- 2nd Grade: Fall Term 30-80 wcpm
- 3rd Grade: Fall Term 50-110 wcpm
- 4th Grade: Fall Term 70-120 wcpm
- 5th Grade: Fall Term 80-130 wcpm
