The FCPS Department of Instructional Technology will be offering a variety of technology integration professional development opportunities this year for teachers after school at various location throughout the county.

The topic for April is ActivInspire: Next Steps.

Do you already know how to use existing ActivInspire flipcharts, but now you are ready to edit them to better fit your needs? This session is for you! "ActivInspire: The Next Steps" builds on the skills presented from the fall after-school sessions. You will learn some basic skills needed to modify an existing flipchart, such as: design mode, grouping and ungrouping objects, layering objects, editing text, and simple color tricks. Participants will also learn how to modify pre-made templates that can be modified for any content. Finally, participants will have the opportunity to download flipcharts from Promethean Planet to practice the skills they have learned.

NOTE: This session is designed to build on the skills from the fall session. Participants should come to this session with some basic ActivInspire experience: opening flipcharts, using the pen tool and the select tool, turning pages, erasing objects, and adding text.

Participants will have one hour of direct instruction and an additional optional 30 minutes to work independently exploring the tool. Teachers will be compensated for attending this PD session at the current workshop rate of $26.26 per hour.

Registration for these sessions closes on March 29th at 4pm. Confirmation emails will then be sent to participants after registration closes.
