PBIS at LES
At Lewistown Elementary School everyone is working hard to display ROARing Behaviors. Our behaviors ROAR when we:
- Respect ourselves, others and property.
- Own our actions and our words.
- Attend school everyday.
- Show Responsibility for our learning.
When students and staff are caught exhibiting ROARing behaviors and or the pillars of character, they are then rewarded with a Tiger Ticket. Tiger tickets act as cash for students to make purchases on Fridays at the Tiger Mart.
When we forget to ROAR, we will:
- Get a visual cue.
- Get a verbal cue.
- Have a conference with the teacher.
- Take a time out.
- Have a loss of incentive/and or phone call home.
- See an administrator/office referral.
In each classroom, a clip chart is posted with each student's name. Each day every student's clip starts at the top. If a student isn't showing ROARing behavior or good character, then his/her clip will be moved down the chart starting with a visual cue. If the student can turn the undesirable behavior around then his/her clip may be moved back to the top.
Our goal is to handle behaviors in a positive manner within the school building. However reoccurring behaviors may lead to an FYI. This is a short form completed by the staff member on duty when the offense occurs and a copy is sent home and given to the office For Your Information, letting you the parent and the office know of the behavior prior to the behavior escalating to an office referral.
