About Dr. Hall
Submitted by Margo.Hall on Tue, 09/16/2008 - 20:33.This year, 2009-2010, is my 31st year of teaching music in public schools. I have taught music to people of all ages. In addition to teaching music, I love to sing and play instruments. The mountain dulcimer is my latest interest. I received my B.S. degree at The Ohio State University, my M.S. degree at McDaniel College and my PhD at the University of Maryland. In 1994 I was honored with the Charles E. Tressler Distinguished Teacher award by the Frederick County Public Schools.
Music is powerful in our lives and enriches our lives in many ways. The joy of music is for everyone. Advanced brain research continues to verify and confirm that all brains are "wired for music." At Thurmont Primary School we develop our musical abilities through singing, moving, and playing instruments. Our students develop their abilities to read and write music. They also have opportunities to create their own music. It is exciting to note that as musical abilities develop, other areas of learning are enhanced. So, encourage your child in their enjoyment of music!
