Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope you and your family had a great summer. I am very excited to begin the new school year and look forward to working with your child. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you.
My name is Heather Flickinger. This is my 11th year working as an F.C.P.S. teacher. My teaching experience is in early childhood. I have taught pre-kindergarten and kindergarten. I have been teaching kindergarten at Thurmont Primary School for 8 years. I truly love teaching young children!
I attended Shepherd College where I received my Bachelor’s degree in elementary education. I recently completed my program in early childhood education at Hood College and graduated this past spring with my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
My husband, Patrick and I have 3 children, Courtney, Kyle, and Tyler. Courtney is 12 years old and is a 7th grader. Kyle and Tyler are 9 year-old twins who are in 4th grade. We enjoy spending time as a family playing soccer, going out to dinner, and reading!
I look forward to an exciting and rewarding school year. I will be communicating with you through monthly newsletters, a classroom blog, quarterly progress reports, phone calls, and/or notes home.
