My name is Trisha Kessler and I am a reading intervention teacher at Thurmont Primary. This will be my second year teaching at TPS and I am truly amazed by the heart power I see everyday around our school! Prior to teaching at TPS, I taught at Hillcrest Elementary for 4 years and in Montgomery County for a year. In 2003, I graduated with an Elementary Education degree from York College of Pennsylvania. This summer I participated in reading clinic which was the completion of my master’s degree in Reading Specialization from Hood College.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Matt, and my two year old son, Brady. Brady is a very active little guy who keeps me busy all the time! He loves to read and we visit the public library often. As a family, we also enjoy going camping and traveling to see extended family in Pennsylvania. I was born and raised in York, PA where most of my family still resides. After marrying my husband in 2003 we relocated to Maryland; however we have not converted to become Maryland fans. We are Penn State fans and are looking forward to attending a few football games in State College this season. We are… Penn State!
I am looking forward to another exciting year at TPS working with your child. Please feel free to contact me through email at
