Mrs. Kim Brennan
Hello, I am Kim Brennan, one of the Kindergarten teachers at Urbana. I would like to welcome you and your child to the school and to my class. I look forward to working with you to help make this a great experience for your child.
I have a B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education and a Masters equivalent. This is my fourteenth year teaching Kindergarten at UES. Some of my responsibilities have included being a Targeted Reading and Math Intervention Teacher, Team Leader and Mentor Teacher.
My husband and I will be celebrating our 30th anniversary in December! We have three children. Our oldest daughter and her husband made us grandparents this past February. What a blessing! Our son graduated from James Madison University and our youngest daughter is in her junior year at Madison. I love reading, working in my flower garden, visiting Starbucks, and spending time at Deep Creek Lake with my family.
I love working with children this age. They are so eager to learn! The parents at UES help to make this a wonderful school! I believe all students are capable of learning and that it is important to have high expectations for student achievement. Children at this age learn through hands-on experiences and modeling. I believe they need to be actively engaged for the best learning to take place. I also would like my students to believe learning can be fun, and I hope they carry this thought with them as they become life long learners.
You may contact me at my e-mail address: Kim.Brennan@fcps.org or the school phone number. I usually answer e-mail daily. Also, feel free to visit my website, which will provide more information and hopefully answer some of your questions about our program.
