Welcome to my webpage. I am thrilled to be teaching at 2nd grade at Urbana Elementary.   

I have a bachelor's degree from Clarion University in Pennsylvania. I am certified in Elementary Education and I am currently working on my graduate degree. I recently completed training that qualifies me as a teacher consultant with the Maryland Writing Project. Prior to becoming a classroom teacher, I was a Targeted Reading Teacher.

My teaching philosophy is to help each student reach his/her full potential, while making learning fun. I also believe that the home/school connection is a vital component in ensuring student growth and success in school.    

You can contact me by writing a note in your students agenda, by phone, or by email. I check my messages daily and will return messages as soon as possible. I am also available to conference before and after school if you have concerns and questions about your student.  

I was born and raised in the small town of Thompson, Pennsylvania.  I am married and have 3 children. My two girls are in college and my son just graduated from Frostburg.  We have two dachshunds, Cassie and Maggie. I love spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy biking, hiking, walking and pretty much any outdoor activities. During the summer, I catch up on reading and scrapbooking. In the winter I love jigsaw puzzles.
