Mrs. Teri Young
Welcome to fourth grade! My name is Teri Young. I've been teaching for 30 years, all in Frederick County. I began my teaching career at Middletown Elementary, but I have spent the last 26 years at Urbana Elementary. I have taught both fourth and fifth grades, and have just moved from fifth grade back to fourth. I love Urbana!
I believe that learning is the most exciting thing about living! Learning new things makes life easier and much more interesting. One of my number one goals as a teacher is to infect my students with that love of learning, which will instill in them the desire to be lifelong learners.
I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Frostburg State College (now University) with a concentration in Reading; my Master's degree in Special Education is from Hood College in Frederick. I have also taken graduate courses in writing, history, and technology.
I have raised five children (my unpaid job for the past 26 years!) My oldest is in the Air Force stationed in Turkey, one graduated from college last year, and three are college students. I am active in my church, and I enjoy reading, history, quilting, singing, and gardening.
The best way to reach me is through e-mail.
