On behalf of the administration, we would like to thank parents, students and community members for a very productive school year. There has not been a single occasion where we could have ever done without the kindness and support of our parents.
This summer, we wish each of our students a safe and relaxing vacation from school. Please use this time productively and remember to do some summer reading to keep your brain fed with new knowledge!
Report cards will be mailed home on June 25 along with supply lists for the fall.
If parents have any questions or concerns that arise during the summer months, administrators and counselors will be available during the summer, from Monday through Thursday. We are all just a phone call away.

OHS Redistricting
At their planning session, the Board of Education directed staff to develop new options that address enrollment capacity concerns that they have with the two recommended options. Staff will be working with the Board during April to develop these options. The April 22nd public hearing has been postponed until the new options are completed. The public hearing will likely be rescheduled during May.

Have a Safe and Happy Summer Vacation!
The Board of Education has revised its bus transportation policy. Starting August ’09, FCPS will return to longer walking (non-transported) distances. The Transportation Department has taken this opportunity to re-evaluate existing walk paths in light of new housing developments, traffic signals, etc. and to ensure overall consistency with policy. Consequently, some areas that were transported are now designated walk areas.
Maps of the non-transported areas for the 09-10 school year are available on our school website as well as the FCPS homepage at www.fcps.org.
Bus stop information will not be available until August 14, when “lookups by address” will be posted on www.fcps.org. This resource will tell parents what school their students attend and whether they are eligible for a bus or are in a non-transported area.
