Math manipulatives don't have to be a mess!
One of the most used manipulative items when teaching Investigations are the "Power Polygons." These sets are used with students to manipulate, sort, and compare different shapes. Demonstrating with the same shapes under a document camera is difficult; the shiny plastic shapes with tiny letters can be hard to see under the glare of the projected light.
Instead of fooling with these shapes try using the flipchart below!
Right click on the attachment, save, then open in ActivInspire. Whether you use Primary or Studio view won't matter, this flipchart is simple and easy to use. Three pages include the following:
Page 1 - a copy of the .pdf transperancy
Page 2 - one image of each shape for sorting
Page 3- an unlimited reservoir of shapes to move and compare

Just hit the "Page Reset" button and you're ready to start all over with the next lesson.
